Stampin' Up! ' s Big Color Refresh

A few days ago, Stampin' Up! announced that there was going to be a change to our current color palette.  As you may have noticed, there are some colors that are trendy and very popular in home decor as well as fashion and textiles.  It is just awesome to be able to craft with a new color favorite!  That is why SU! is freshening up our color choices.  Now that means removing some old and long-time favorites.  These colors of ink pads, refills, card stock and markers will only be available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.  If one of your fave's is leaving, be sure to get whatever you need right away.  Some reinkers and card stock are already depleted.

Some really great news, however, is that some of the best in-colors from before will be coming back!  Not to mention, four of the five that are due to retire with this catalog are going to be part of our core color collection!!

This is pretty wonderful!!  Don't you agree?  I just loved Pear Pizzazz, Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Blushing Bride and Crushed Curry!  So glad to have them back :)  Can't wait to see Smoky Slate!
And, don't forget, we get 5 new In-Colors to play with for 2 full years debuting in our new Stampin' Up! Catalog for 2013-2014 on May 31st!

Bombs Away!! Newest Clear Photopolymer Stamp Set

Here is a message from Dave B.  One of the catalog designers from Stampin' Up! about our newest Photopolymer Stamp Set, "Bombs Away"

"Before we get down to business, there are a few things you should know about me. First, I am a hopeless cynic. We may be taught that every cloud has a silver lining, but the first time it rains that silver lining is going to get all sorts of tarnished—am I right? (Disclosure: I'm not a professional jeweler, and there's a good chance that that statement is completely false.) Instead, I prefer to look for life's little ironies to keep me amused and content.

Second, when I'm in a group, I tend to sit back and observe, quietly making mental notes. Then, when the opportune moment arrives, I drop a bomb of sarcasm on the unsuspecting folk (hopefully eliciting laughs and not scornful looks). With this preface in mind, I'd like to drop our next photopolymer stamp set on the world—Bombs Away Birthday.

The bomb can work in conjunction with any of the greetings. Stamp it on the front of your card, and the fuse has been lit. Open it up, and the punch line pops.

This particular greeting was inspired by my mom, whose doll collection lines the shelves of the guest bedroom where my wife and I frequently stay—gazing down at us with their hollow eyes while we sleep. But just in case your mom happens to collect souvenir spoons or ceramic roosters, I decided to leave it customizable.

Popular music is one of the great road markers in life. For example, I first realized I was no longer a spring chicken when all my favorite bands were featured in one of those music compilation infomercials. ("Own all the biggest Alt Rock hits of the 90s on two incredible discs!") This led me to come up with an unconventional gift card holder to spotlight a pair of my favorite greetings from the set.

Head down to your local thrift store to choose from the rows and rows of used cassettes (or maybe you still have a box of them collecting dust in your garage). Obviously the key is to find an album that holds special significance between you and the person you are giving it to.

An iTunes gift card would be perfect for someone whose music tastes are, shall we say, less than current? But the icing on the cake comes when the album art can be re-used in a strategic way. (Can I get a witness, George Michael?)

Most people tend to have a love/hate relationship with birthdays (love when they're young, hate as they get older). Hopefully the Bombs Away Birthday Stamp Set will make you (or someone you know) chuckle while keeping an eye on that increasingly tarnished silver lining. Go get it in the online store now."

Isn't it fun to get a glimpse inside the mind of those who have the creative genius to put these awesome stamp sets in the catalog?!  This set is a great value at only $13.95!  Click on my link in the previous paragraph to order yours today!

Blog Tour Today

This month's tour uses the February Best of Love Stamp Set.  I was set on creating something a man would be just as wild about getting as he would be to create and give it. Let me know it you think I have succeeded:)

The front of this card is a gate fold created with a Marina Mist base, Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy and Cherry Cobbler Bakers' Twine.
I wrapped the bakers' twine around the silver designer buttons to close  it.
 Here is how it opens.
Here is the inside:)

Next stop, Susan Carlson's Blog  Thanks for stopping!
