Last day for Sweet Scoops!

I sure will miss our Summer Mini Catalog! There were so many cute stamp sets and cool accessories that I had trouble finding time to make all the ideas I had:) This set was fun to use
for a co-worker's birthday! Her family owns an ice cream stand and she really enjoyed the personal touch her card had.

The things I used to make this card are:
  • Sweet Scoops stamp set
  • Word Window punch
  • Tiny Flower Punch
  • Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon
This set is great for any birthday or celebration and is especially fun for accenting summer scrapbook pages.

Thanks for visiting!!

Back in the Bloggin' Saddle Again!

Hi Everybody! I know it seems like it has been forever since I've blogged!! I'm so glad to say that this will resume its proper place in my life once again;)

Today we (my darling daughter, Jenny and I) went to Manor Care Nursing Home for a class of card making fun. I did not want anyone to feel rushed on their project so I decided to use the same design with six different color schemes and stamp sets so that 2 people could share the same supplies. This encouraged them to "buddy up" too! It was great watching these folks help each other stamp their cards!

Here are some close ups of the samples I made for the supplies I gave them. I don't really think they made them much like the samples but that is the fun of creating!

Many of the residents had never done stamping before so at first they were a little worried that they did not know what to do!

Once they got going and began creating, they just got lost in the fun! Little by little, all 12 people began to figure out how to load the stamps with ink, tell where to put it, and stamp a design.

Tiny expressions of pleasure began to replace the worry as they watched the birth of their creations!

When I showed them how to embellish the inside of the card, they were so excited! Many of them used different stamping techniques and made such mess with inky fingers but none seemed to care!

One of them asked me if where I got the supplies they were using and I told them about Stampin' Up! and how they have a fabulous line of stamps and inks and paper and how they all coordinate together! I made mention of the fact that some of the products we were using for this class were retired and they thought that was hilarious:)

The last 15 minutes was just enough time to pull out the Big Shot and die cut some beautiful embossed butterflies for them to glue onto card or envelope, whichever they chose. I even had time to use the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder on some of their envelope flaps. They were ecstatic over that little extra touch! It was so nice to hear them say how sad they were that it was time to go! I'm looking forward to the next time we'll stamp together.

I want to take a minute to thank Gretchen Barron for her "Inspiration in Action" for these cards! She inspires me to do great work because of her careful attention detail and excellent artwork!

Thanks for joining me as I share with you my adventures with stamping!
