Thanksgiving Eve

Hi Friends!

I'm so excited about celebrating Thanksgiving Holiday with my huge family. We have to use a room at Nana's church to hold all of us! There will be 23 of us altogether! We so seldom get to visit that I'm sure the funny stories will not be in short supply.

On Monday we held a Thanksgiving Dinner for all those who come to Cafe` 4111. We had about 30 people there and it was awesome. There were several teens there and some volunteers and their families.

It was such a great time to spend together :) It was evident that the volunteers and the Walkley's have touched so many lives and hearts through this ministry!

Today, I spent an hour with some friend at Ability @ Work. It is a division of Hattie Larlham that helps in the rehabilitation of adults that have suffered a brain injury or trauma. Stamping and papercrafting seems to be so enjoyed by everyone and they are always fascinated by the cool things they can make. We used the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine to make a variety of things to use to embellish for the upcoming craft fair they will be holding on December 4th from 12 noon to 6:30Pm. Come on down if you have some time. I will be having some quick and fun make and takes at my table. Karen is crafting some of her gorgeous card designs to sell. This will be raising funds for this great program!

They had me make some cards to teach the clients that attend this program. They chose the Winter Retreat Simply Scrappin' Kit to play with. These are the ones I came up with.

Girlfriend's of Grace Stampin' Night

We had a really small group this month, coming off the heels of Judgement House. Those who were able to come seemed to have a great time together!

We focused on our Thanksgiving table place settings this month. Our first make and take was this adorable, little favor box.

The next goodie was a place card made from In Everything Give Thanks stamp set and Holidays and Wishes stamp set. We used the leaves from Autumn Harvest stamp set and this cute little turkey is all punches!

I so treasure this time to connect with the ladies that come to this monthly event! They are so fun!

Next month, our class will be on December 12 and it is PMS Night! (Pizza, Music, and Stampin') Bring $5.00 for pizza, and be there at 5:00 PM. We have several fun things available for a dollar or two that you can make ands give to for gifts to family and friends. It's called our "Christmas Giftables Boutique" You can make hand-stamped candles, covered notebooks, stationary sets and so on. I hope you will join us:)

Blessings,

Last Day of Indian Summer

What a sweet treat it is to have sunshine and warm temperatures this late in the beautiful fall season! Here in Ohio we are still experiencing the height of the vibrant colors of the leaves changing before they fall and I have to say, in bright sunshine, they are glorious! I really love the earthy, rich colors that are just about everywhere right now:)

OH, HOW I LOVE MAIL!

Look what one of my dear stamping friends, Karen, sent me in the mail! Isn't it the most darling card?! I just love the warm, friendly grins on these pumpkins! Thank you, Karen!!

Lee's Back in Blogland

Hi Everybody!!

I know it has been ages since I was able to blog! My digital camera became totally unoperable and my life was travelling at too high a speed to keep up. But I am soooooooo excited to be back! I thought I would begin with some recent projects from our Hostess Club nights! I have such a great group of ladies to stamp with!! It is such a pleasure finding fun, interesting projects to do for this class!

One project showcased how easy our Simply Sent Card Elements kits are to use. They come with all the cardstock, designer paper and adhesive die-cuts to embellish your cards. Classy, yet simple enough for a beginner to use. Makes an excellant gift for a friend you'd like to entice to become a stamping buddy!

The ladies I stamp with enjoy variety, so, I try to add a bit of a challenge with a technique card as well. The October technique was Masking. I love to create and develope interesting scene's using this technique and this particular card caught my eye.

I used to ice skate all year round as a teenager. I skated every open session I could at Winterhurst Indoor Rink in Lakewood, Ohio. This scene really took me back and made me fall in love with this stamp set - Winter Post (from the Holiday Mini Catalog.) Lovely as a Tree is an especially favorite set of mine that I seem to find new uses for year after year! The greeting comes from a great Level 1 Hostess Set called Best Yet. This one seems to be my hostess club girls favorite!

The Big Shot by Sizzex is fast becoming my new favorite tool from Stampin' Up! I am so thrilled to have something this useful and fun to show my customers! This card demonstrates the Top Note Die. I will definitely be showing you more goodies made with this puppy!!

Our final projet was this little treat container. It is the shape of a sour cream container and we filled ours with M&M's. We used the Level 1 Hostess Print Pack, which requires no cutting or trimming. We needed a 6x6" piece and used our Sticky Strip and Crimper to make this super fast 3-D item. These make great party favors and stocking stuffers! Nice WOW factor too!
Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you enjoyed the projects! See you again soon!
Blessings,
Lee
