Count Down Till Christmas - Derailed! #7, 8, 9 and 10!

PMS Night Make and Take

"The best laid plans of mice and men" seem to get derailed so quickly when rearranging occurs!  The Lord blessed us with a very special gift.  Something He seemed to have hand-picked just for us:)  This gift came with a change that had to be done in order to use the gift.  That change brought about a chain reaction of rearranging our living areas of the house.  The computer and desk went downstairs.  Little space heater wasn't strong enough, so walls in the craft room had to come down so the heater would blow and make it hot enough.  All that during one week's time!! 

This little guy  was really fun to make and those who attended PMS Night just loved him!

This card is so easy and elegant!  The Deck the Halls Designer paper will be so missed when it retires in a few weeks.  I have really enjoyed those colors and patterns.  They will be showing up some more in my posts for sure:)
To make this card, we used :
1. Soft Suede card stock base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2")
2. Deck the Halls DSP (2" x 4 1/4")
3. Cherry Cobbler card stock (3 1/4" x 4 1/4")
4 Very Vanilla card stock (3" x 4")
5. Bells and Boughs stamp set
6. All Holidays stamp set
7.Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler markers
8. Always Artichoke Seam Binding
9. Soft Suede ink pad

 This next card has such a simply design and gives a nostalgic feeling.  We are using the Welcome Christmas set that has really awesome solid stamp images

Count Down Till Christmas Day #6

This card is another "Blast from the Past" that I was extremely inspired by.  The designer's name is Amy Celona and she has an awesome eye for color and placement.  She used some wonderful Vellum card stock and White embossing powder to give this card the look of a stained glass window.  Amazing!

 Here's how it's made:
1. Stamp the image of baby Jesus' family from the Holy Triptych stamp set using VersaMark on Vellum card stock scrap.  Then, stamp frame with VersaMark as well.  Pour white embossing powder over images and gently heat till set. 
2. Color in the reverse side of the image using water color pencils and a blender pen till you get the desired shades.TIP: Put a small amount of color where you want it to be darkest and drag color around with the blender pen to fill in that portion.
3.Trim around design, leaving a small border.
4. Cut a piece of Whisper White to be the same size as the vellum image.  Adhere carefully under the colored areas only.
5. On the Bashful Blue piece that is 4" x 5 1/4", stamp a snow flake of your choice from Northern Hearts* or Serene Snowflakes,* twice, using VersaMark ink.  Pour Iridescent Ice embossing powder over them and heat till set using the Heat Tool .   ( *The Snow Burst set that is used in the sample is retired and no longer available.)
6. Mount stained glass window onto Snowflakes
7.Stamp a greeting from Many Merry Messages or similar sized greeting using VersaMark again.  Sprinkle with White embossing powder and heat to set with Heat Tool. 
8. Mount it on the Whisper White card base.

Count Down Till Christmas Day #5

I know you're gonna think, "But this is the 7th of December, not the 5th!"  and you'd be right.  We had a little hiccup in our daily life, (you probably don't have those :) and computer and desk all had to be relocated to another part of the house!  Not something I was planning but so very glad I did it!  Now, it's down in my studio so projects can hit the press even quicker.  Once I get studio back in order, I'll post project 6and 7.  In the meantime, I hope you will enjoy this little cutie.  This is a mini card (3x3") that goes very nicely inside or outside a gift bag or tucked in a small gift.

1.Start with 6x3"piece of Bashful Blue card stock and fold in half.
2.Tie an 8" piece of Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon around a 2 3/4"x2 3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper - I used Candy Cane Christmas here- and adhere to the front of the card
3. Stamp the greeting from Tags Till Christmas using Real Red ink on a scrap of Whisper White card stock.
4. Punch out with Decorative Label punch.
5. Punch two labels of Garden Green and cut them in 1/2 , each a different direction.  Adhere them to the back of the punched image to mat.
6. Draw an outline around the oval part with two-way glue pen or crystal effects.  Sprinkle some Silver Glass Glitter to cover the glue.  be sure to press down well. 
7. Add you matted punched image to the front using 2 Stampin' Dimensionals.

Count Down Till Christmas Day #4

This card is a Blast from Christmas Past!  I made this one 2 years ago and still have people asking me to make some for them:)  The mark of a truly timeless design.  Wish I could remember who the original designer was so I could thank them for such a breathtaking scene.
This one's a little work... but well worth it!
1. Begin your scene on a piece of Whisper White card stock (3 3/4" x 5").
2. Tear a strip of copy paper to cover the part you want to stay white for the snow.  Put a little Dotto on the underside to keep it from moving around while you're working.
3. Punch a 1 3/8" circle out of a post it note and adhere where you would like to have a moon.
4. Roll your Brayer in Bashful Blue ink and then roll across your entire card.
5. Next, roll your Brayer in Night of Navy ink and then across your card lightly, making sure not to cover the whole area.
6. Remove masks for snow and moon.
7. Stamp the long row of trees from Lovely as a Tree stamp set with Basic Gray ink.
8. Stamp large pine tree closer to the front on the left using Basic Black ink
9. Stamp greeting from Heart from the Heart stamp set using Basic Black ink
9 1/2. Draw on snow drifts and tree branches with Two Way Glue Pen
9 3/4. Sprinkle Dazzling diamonds on while glue is wet. Tap off excess.
10. Mount on Night of Navy  mat (5 1/4" x 4")
11. Mount on Bashful Blue card base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2")

Count Down To Christmas Day 3

Today is one of those "miracle" days!  I was on time for everything I had to do!!!  Those of you who know me well are aware that that, for me, is a feat. Made me really think a bit about the miracle of Jesus coming to earth.  I love this card because of how simply that message gets conveyed. Wendy Janson designed this and I just had to make one:)  Thank you Wendy!

1.  Run Very Vanilla card stock base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded in half) through the Big Shot  using the Square    Lattice embossing folder.
2.   Rub small Very Vanilla piece with Embossing Buddy

      3. Stamp large image with VersaMark 
  4. Add Black Embossing Powder and use heat tool
5. Stamp greeting with Jet Black Stazon ink
6. Mount on Basic Black mat
7. Tie  ribbon on front as show
8.  Add a Rhinestone to the star center
9. Adhere to card base using Stampin' Dimensionals

Count Down to Christmas Day 2

Don't you just love the way the Holidays look?  Everywhere I drive I see Christmas lights sparkling!  Reminds me to be thankful that we have an entire month to enjoy this:)

This card was a favorite at the last Stamp-A-Stack!  So simple but classy:) 
1.  Stamp the single pine tree from Lovely as a Tree 3 times in the left corner of Very Vanilla card stock (3 3/4" by 5") using Old Olive ink.
2. Stamp the ornament from Tags Till Christmas on Very Vanilla scrap using Cherry Cobbler ink.  Punch out with Ornament punch. Add a large pearl from the Basic Pearls pack in the center.

3. Take a small piece of Linen Thread and dab with a small amount of Tombow Multi-Purpose Adhesive.  Position it to dangle from a branch as shown.
4. Stamp the greeting from Heard From The Heart stamp set using Cherry Cobbler again.
5. Adhere Stampin' Dimensionals to back of ornament and add to the center.
6 Mount Very Vanilla scene on Cherry Cobbler card stock (4" x 5 1/4") and then onto Old Olive card base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded in half)

Magnetic Advent Calendar

 I think every day of December belongs to Christmas, so, last weekend I put together this very fun project using Candy Cane Lane designer paper:)  Each little box holds a special candy treat for the day and is an opportunity for me and the kids to spend some time together talking about the special significance of what we are celebrating.  I want to continue to encourage them to give to someone in a thoughtful way each day while we wait for the celebration of the Greatest Gift ever given- God's dear Son Jesus!

To kick off this glorious season, I'd like to give a gift to you each day!  Each day will have a simple project posted with clear, easy directions to make it yourself to.  There will be an assortment of things that are practical, or gifty or just plain nifty!

I know that your time will be valuable so my posts will be brief.  Just want to inspire you to give a little of your creative flair to those you care about it!  They will treasure it because it was made by you!  This project was a CASE from a very talented demonstrator named Jackie Topa.  Thank you Jackie!!

Click on the photo for a clear view of this fun and easy card.  Dasher made his debut  in my recent Stamp-A-Stack at my dear friend, Kirsten's house.  He is based on a card I saw on the Stampers Connection by Riley Fitzgerald.  I love that Stampin' Up! provides demonstrators such a valuable tool!  It's just loaded with great samples!

Here are the easy steps to making this lovely card:
1. Run card front through the Big Shot using Northern Flurry embossing folder
2.Stamp Dasher on Whisper White card stock using Early Espresso ink.  Mount on Early Espresso card stock.  Adhere to card front as shown
3. Punch Designer Label from Early Espresso
4. Punch 1"  Circle  from Baha Breeze
5. Stamp greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set onto Whisper White.  Punch out using the Word Window punch.
6. Layer punched pieces as shown above using SNAIL adhesive and adhere to card using 2 Stampin' Dimensionals.
7 Give Dasher and the snowflakes their bling using Basic Rhinestones Jewel Accents!  Enjoy:)
